Round 2 Fight! Airforce loses a 240 Machine gun!

You can add a 240 machine gun to that list of missing munitions from good ol’ Why Not Minot.

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE – Air Force Global Strike Command leaders have directed an immediate commandwide inventory of weapons after two recent incidents involving the loss of a Minot Air Force Base M240 machine gun and also grenade rounds for a Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher.

Most recently, during a standard weapons inventory at the armory on base early Wednesday morning, a M240 7.62mm machine gun was discovered missing, according to Lt. Col. Jamie Humphries, chief of Public Affairs at the base.

Humphries said the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing immediately began a search of their weapons inventories and opened an investigation with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
