LEOs don’t get enough recognition for the work they do. Their job is dangerous and the risk they take often go under appreciated. The same can be said for their K9 counterparts. Two men who robbed a 7-11 found out the hard way just how well trained these canines can be.

Just after 11:30 last night (February 20th), officers with Ormond Beach Police Department responded to a 7-11 convenience store on North Nova Road by the Trails Shopping Center.

When officers arrived, they were told by the store clerk that two masked men, later identified as 29-year-old Jamier Scott and 29-year-old Darryl Duffy, entered the store, with one of them aiming a gun at them. The second carried a duffle bag.

oth Scott & Duffy demanded cash, before running out of the store headed northbound.

One Publix employee contacted OBPD, telling them they saw Scott & Duffy head northbound on Nova Road in a white Ford Escape.

FCSO joined the chase which continued into the city of Bunnell where Bunnell police and FCSO had set up stop sticks in efforts to stop Scott & Duffy. After hitting the stop sticks, the vehicle crashed into a wooded area just west of Highway 100.
