Wheelchair bound man gets fine for not crossing road quick enough after being hit by passing car

A disabled man in Colorado, was shocked to get a fine following an accident in which a car slammed into his wheelchair.

WWN reports

Kyle Wolfe of Denver, said that when he was crossing a street when he had the right of way, the light changed to red while he was in middle of the intersection.

When vehicular traffic got the green light, he was still in middle of the road, and he was hit by a passing car. He was knocked out of his wheelchair and suffered bruises.

His wheelchair was totaled. When police arrived at the scene, Wolfe was shocked to get a fine for disobeying a traffic signal.

Wolfe told police that it was impossible to get through 19th and Lawrence streets in the allotted time with a wheelchair.

However, police responded by saying that he should take his case to court.
