Suspect falls off overpass!

Even though at the end of the night the guy ended up in jail you gotta admit hes lucky… and he may have been on something.

A truck driver who bolted as police in Kentucky were arresting him somehow survived after he plummeted off a 40-foot overpass — and then apparently kept trying to evade the cops.

Eugene Lydell, 55, of West Palm Beach, Florida, was pulled over by Bellevue police officers around 1 a.m. on Dec. 5 while driving on Interstate 471, WLEX-TV reported. Law enforcement said they pulled over Lydell because was driving the wrong direction on the highway.

Body camera footage showed police trying to handcuff Lydell, who clearly put up a fight.

“You’re under arrest,” one officer said before Lydell asked why.

“I need you to put your hands behind your back. Stop!” the officer said to the driver who responded, “I don’t have any warrants!”

According to the body camera footage, the police officers lost control of Lydell, who then seemed to fall over the edge of the overpass. Police were heard on camera saying the overpass was roughly 40 feet high.

Police called for back up as they searched for Lydell, who got up after his plunge and reportedly made a run for it.

A K-9 officer arrived to look for Lydell — who, upon seeing the dog, allegedly put the hound in a chokehold.

“Get off my dog!” an officer repeatedly shouted, as Lydell claimed the dog was “biting” him.

Officers then shocked Lydell with a stun gun, according to WLEX, and handcuffed him before an ambulance arrived.

“Hey, man, you need to stop rolling around. You just dropped about 40 feet, alright?” one officer was heard telling the suspect. Officers questioned how Lydell was still alive.

“I thought he was dead. When we were looking over the side, he, he was — I mean, he fell over, and it was a flat smack right on his back,” an officer is heard saying. “I don’t know how he’s still living.”
