ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL (WALA) –

A shootout in broad daylight at a busy intersection in Escambia County, Florida was caught on camera.

Deputies said the shots were fired around noon Monday on W Street at Fairfield Drive. Two children and countless others were all in harms way during the altercation. Luckily, no one was hurt. The incident happened right in front of a citizen’s vehicle equipped with a dashcam.

The video starts with a gold car stopped at a red light. A few seconds later, a silver Lexus pulls up two lanes over. The Lexus is still rolling as two men in the vehicle started firing shots at the gold car. It appears between six and eight rounds were fired off.

As those shots were fired, a man in the passenger seat of the gold car, identified as Jeremy Olds, jumps out of the vehicle and takes cover behind a Chevrolet pickup truck. When the silver Lexus drives off heading west on Fairfield, deputies say Olds fires at least two shots at the car. The video ends with the gold car running a red light to cross Fairfield Drive.

“That’s something that we obviously do not tolerate in Escambia county and we were on this thing from the very get-go,” said an investigator with Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Olds was arrested Tuesday afternoon. Deputies say a woman and two children were also in the gold vehicle but no one was injured. Deputies are now searching for Jonathan James Harris. Investigators say he fired shots from the silver Lexus.

The sheriff’s office said the shooting is considered to be drug-related.

“We do have reason to believe that this is involving drugs and that one vehicle owed the other vehicle money,” the investigator said.
