The Iranian supported and supplied Houthi rebels in Yemen continue to fire increasingly sophisticated missiles into neighboring Saudi Arabia. The recently released video attempts to demonstrate the Houthi’s growing capabilities and publicly threatening regional stability.

The Houthi rebels released a video alleging to show multiple launches of several types of ballistic or cruise missile systems. Attacks against neighboring Saudi Arabia have increased in the past year and further deepened the rivalry between Sunni Saudi Arabia, and Shi’a Iran.

Firing the missiles from the concealing dark expanses of the Yemeni desert, the Houthi’s claim to fire several types of long range missiles during the video. They additionally cover the launches with multiple camera and footage from a hovering drone.

A purported seven projectiles of different sizes and capabilities were fired during this attack. Streaking through the nearly pitch-black darkness, the warheads were aimed at five separate Saudi cities – Riyadh the capital, and four smaller cities of Khamis, Mushait, Jizan, and Najran.

The report also added that “The United Nations, a long slate of Middle East countries, the United States and European Union have condemned the missile attacks, recommitting their support for the Kingdom”
