DC police officer charged with aiding ISIS

A Washington, D.C. metro transit authority police officer was charged on Wednesday with trying to provide material support to ISIS — the first time a law enforcement officer has been charged with an ISIS-related crime.

(FOX)- Nicholas Young, who has served with the department since 2003, was arrested Wednesday morning by FBI agents.

He is alleged to have tried sending money to ISIS via mobile-based gift cards using a messaging service.

An alleged transaction redeemed by the FBI in July was for $245.

Young is set to appear in court Wednesday at 2 p.m.
