CMMG continues adding to its arsenal of rifles, this time ponying up a new Mk4 DTR2 rifle chambered in Federal Premium’s newest cartridge — the .224 Valkyrie.
Introduced in late 2017, the Valkyrie cartridge is poised to take the precision world by storm offering long range performance similar to that of the 6.5 Creedmoor. Unlike the Creedmoor cartridge, though, the Valkyrie is a smaller, AR-15 sized caliber. Federal Premium has said the flat-shooting Valkyrie was crafted to generate supersonic velocities out to 1,300 yards.
