A Kentucky man who called 911 to report a murder is among four who have been charged in the case, in which authorities have located a second body, reports CBS affiliate WKYT.
(CBS)- Police wrote in an arrest citation obtained by the station that Wesley Johnson called 911 Friday and reported that his friend, Billy Roark, had been shot. Johnson told investigators that Anthony Taylor, along with four others, threatened him and Roark at gunpoint, and made them get out of their vehicle on Hell Creek Road in Lee County.
Investigators say Taylor and suspect Kevin Kendall then hit the 28-year-old Roark with their pistols, before walking him off the roadway and ordering him to his knees. Police say Roark was then shot and killed.
Investigators say Taylor admitted to being at Hell Creek Road with Roark and the rest of the group, but say he claims he did not shoot Roark. Taylor reportedly gave investigators conflicting statements — blaming Kendall for the shooting and also saying another man who was with the group shot Roark.
During their investigation, troopers allegedly found blood on Taylor’s truck, and the suspect allegedly acknowledged that his truck was at the scene.
Johnson, who called 911, has also been charged in the murder. According to an arrest citation for him, Taylor and Kendall told investigators that Johnson had a gun during the shooting and that Roark and Johnson had an argument before Roark was killed. While Kendall and Taylor blame each other for the shooting, they both allegedly said Johnson took part in the crime.
Kendall has also been booked into the jail on a murder charge. According to an arrest citation, Kendall told investigators that Taylor killed Roark.
