Seven people stabbed in Boston’s Theater District

Seven people were stabbed with knives and bottles early Sunday morning on Tremont Street in the Theater District, according to Boston police.

(BostonGlobe)- Four victims were transported from the scene for medical attention and three others walked into local hospitals on their own, according to Boston police spokesman Stephen McNulty.

One of those wounded was critical and in surgery, said Boston police superintendent Bernard O’Rourke at the scene around 3:30 a.m. after police responded at around 2:15 a.m.

The area has a number of bars and clubs that close at 2 a.m.

Upon arriving at the scene in response to a report of a fight, officers found the victims who had been stabbed with knives and bottles, O’Rourke said.

O’Rourke said authorities have identified a suspect.
