Murderous Couple on multi-state killing spree

Pair wanted in multi-state killing spree

(FOX)- Two suspected murderers linked to a multi-state killing spree are on the lam, and Florida police say they could strike again without warning.

The number of deputies on patrol doubled in Escambia County, searching for 44-year-old William “Billy” Boyette and 37-year-old Mary Rice. The manhunt escalated after a shooting Monday morning that wounded a young mother during a home invasion near Pensacola.

The shooting marked the third attack over the last week in a killing spree that has left three women dead and one critically injured, according to the Pensacola News Journal. Police don’t believe it will be the last.

Boyette and Rice also were suspected in the deaths of two women in nearby Milton on Jan. 31 and the killing of a woman in Lillian, Alabama, last Friday.

Agencies across the Panhandle and southern Alabama are searching for Boyette and Rice, who had previously been considered a person of interest in the attacks. On Monday she was upgraded to an official suspect. Authorities said she dyed her hair orange and did not act on multiple chances to flee or ask for help. She has been spotted on surveillance video entering stores on her own.

Sheriff David Morgan told local news outlets that Boyette has a history of drug trafficking and is known to be a heavy user of the drug Spice.
