The concept for the Pod Pistol came to me when I was serving with Army Special Operations and spending a lot of time around guns and drinking a lot of pod coffee. It occurred to me that there were a bunch of similarities between the shape of bullets and coffee pods and that it would be cool to do something with that. Fast forward 5 years to my discharge from the Army and when all was said and done, one of the things I seemed to miss the most about my military time was the tactile experience of operating guns, and I looped back around to the coffee pod gun concept with an emphasis on capturing some of the tactile experience of handling guns. Around the same time I was completing a subject in entrepreneurship to finish up my MBA and I thought I’d go all in and found Coffee Cannon to bring my vision to life! Starting with a very basic concept that I made myself with parts from a hardware store I created the first prototype. Pretty quickly I exceeded my ability for further development and I reached out to an industrial designer to prove the concept with a 3D printed device (pictured below).
Once we had proven that we could make a magazine-fed, bolt-action coffee pod dispenser work, it was off to a larger industrial design firm to further refine the device and prepare it for mass manufacture. After a further couple of years of development the refined Pod Pistol is finally ready to go into production!

We are ready to rock with production of the moulds that will allow us to mass produce the Pod Pistol. The funds from success in this campaign will allow us to produce the first run of Pod Pistols and deliver them to the exclusive Alpha Team of buyers. The plan is to keep the first production run small and we anticipate that only 2800 will be available initially. Along the way I have joined forces with my mate, and now business partner, Dusty, who is an active duty Police Officer and between us we have raised the funds to build the plates that will allow mass production of the Pod Pistol.
