Tucker’s partner took heroic action to drag her back behind the patrol car and get her to safety.

Officer Tucker was airlifted to USA Medical Center is in critical but stable condition, the suspect is now deceased.

Police shot the suspect, 27-year-old Matthew Richardson, before he shot officer Tucker in the temple.

Saraland Police Chief JC West confirms the suspect was also injured by gunfire. Witnesses say they heard up to 8 gunshots

Two shooting victims were transported from the scene, one via life-flight. Both officer and suspect are in critical condition.

A Saraland police officer has been shot, according to Local 15 News.

While few details are known at this point, sources say a female officer was responding to a domestic call on Martha Alleyn Drive in Saraland when she was shot in the head.

After eluding police for a short time, the suspect is now in custody. His identity at this time is unknown, but sources say he has been transported to the hospital for his injuries.

The officer has been airlifted from the scene and her condition is unavailable at this time.
