Another Deadly Weekend in Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago…

Lori Lightfoot, the failed Mayor of Chicago, appears unwilling or unable to address the ever-rising level of gun crime, especially where minority victims are involved.

Perhaps Lori is too busy chasing more important issues, like the LGBTQ agenda or Covid-related mandates.

It’s sad, but Chicago isn’t safe to live in or visit. What was once a shining example of America’s heartland, sitting on the banks of Lake Michigan, is now nothing more than a crime-ridden dystopia, thanks to Democrat policies and lack of leadership.

Lightfoot famously was all for “defunding the police” in the wake of the BLM riots in 2020. Where has that sentiment gotten you, Lori? Your city is deadly, and you are considered America’s worst mayor.

Let’s check with Breitbart for this weekend’s deadly details:

At least 34 people were shot, three fatally, during the weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.

Breitbart News noted at least 20 people were shot Friday into Saturday evening alone in the Windy City, and one of those shooting victims succumbed to their wounds.

ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reports that the total number of shooting victims was at least 34 by Monday morning, with two additional shooting fatalities.

Why is this ok? Where is the BLM movement when black people are gunning each other down in the streets of our third largest city?

The first of the two additional fatal shootings occurred Saturday night at 11:45 p.m. “in the 600-block of West 89th Street,” when a man in his early 20s was shot multiple times while standing outside.

The man was shot “in the face, neck and chest,” and transported to a hospital, where he died.

A 21-year-old was shot numerous times and killed Sunday morning at 12:40 a.m. “in the 4700 block of South Union Avenue.”

Chicago is a city where there is so much gun violence and so few police that there are actual gunfire detectors set up around the city to notify police automatically if gunshots are heard. That’s terrifying.

It wasn’t that long ago that groups were hilariously praising Lightfoot and her “plan” to reduce gun violence.

This plan includes important priorities such as police accountability and culture change, collaborating with community-based violence intervention programs, and improving gun safety and providing services for those impacted by violence. We look forward to continuing our work with the mayor, city officials, community groups and the residents of Chicago, to ensure that this plan receives the necessary funding and is centered in proven, community-based gun violence prevention models.

Someone forgot to tell the bangers, crooks, and gangsters that Mayor Lightfoot had a “plan.”

Chicago needs change from the top down before this sad, violent situation will get any better.
