Alec Baldwin Shoots Two People on Movie Set

According to NY Post

The bullet Alec Baldwin fired from a prop gun first struck director of photography Halyna Hutchins — then exited her body and hit film director Joel Souza’s clavicle on the set of the upcoming film “Rust,” according to a report Friday.

The movie set was quickly locked down and Hutchins and Souza were rushed to a hospital via helicopter, according to the report. Hutchins died while being transported.

The “Motherless Brooklyn” star went to the hospital to check on the condition of the filmmakers and learned he had killed Hutchins, according to the outlet.

“He had no idea how badly they were hurt or Halyna was dead,” the witness said.

After accidentally discharging the gun, 63-year-old Baldwin demanded to know why he’d been handed a loaded weapon, according to Showbiz411.com, which cited a witness.

“In all my years, I’ve never been handed a hot gun,” he said, according to the source.

The $6 million-budget movie likely had meetings about safety, the source said.

“They had safety meetings every day but it was a Tier I movie, so they probably didn’t have more than one prop person,” the source said.

Hollywood sources say production of the flick has been halted in the wake of the shooting, according to the outlet.
