Building declared safe after shooting in Dallas skyscraper

Mary Jo Nsuk, who works in the building, stood in the parking lot shoeless just before noon. She was on the 10th floor when she heard a commotion coming from below and heard police say, “Come out with your hands up.”

About five minutes later, policecame to the door to escort her downstairs,  saying, “Get out of the office, come on.” She left her belongings, including her cellphone and shoes, behind.

Brandee Love and Bailee Christian, who also work on the 10th floor, said they heard a number of shots and then screams.

A short time later, SWAT officers escorted them down a stairwell and out of the building. One officer’s arm was bleeding, they said.

Police cars and fire trucks could be seen at the building. A broken window in the building also can be seen from the outside. Two ambulances were dispatched to the area, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The newspaper reported that the building was delcared safe at 1:49 p.m. ET. A press conference has been scheduled for 2:20 p.m. ET.

Dallas-based WFAA reported two people have been shot in Dallas. The two were shot at a North Dallas office building, according to WFAA.

The Dallas Police Department tweeted that the incident is still being investigated but that no officers suffered life-threatening injuries.

 

The incident at 8330 LBJ Freeway is still in the early stages of investigations. Plans are being made to give sound once info is confirmed

 

 

No officers suffered any life threatening injuries at this time.

 

A reporter at WFAA reported there is an active shooter. Dallas-based KXAS reported police have not been able to confirm any details, including injuries. Police were called to the scene around 10:30 a.m. Central.

Sources say 2 people shot in a high rise in Dallas. Active shooter. Dallas SWAT on way.
