A thermal video out of Afghanistan shows an A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthog” conduct a series of deadly strafing runs on a truck full of Taliban fighters.
The video begins with a drone already observing a group of the insurgents, and soon a truck comes to the rendezvous point to pick them up and begin their mission. Unknown to them, they are already dead. The A-10 absolutely shreds the vehicle and kills most of the occupants. However, a few squirters can be seen crawling from the wreckage in an attempt to escape on foot and they are dealt with as well. One of the fighters returns to the vehicle to check for wounded survivors, but what appears to be a secondary explosion of their ammo cooking off engulfs the man in deadly heat and gas, and he lays on the ground to die as more follow-on explosion rock the smoldering wreckage.
