Bodycam video shows officer’s response to a gun call involving kids with a realistic-looking bb gun!

Big props to this Officer for how he handled this situation. In today’s society it is important for people to realize how great a large majority of our law enforcement is and the lengths they go to to serve and protect. An officer responding to a call about two youth brandishing a handgun is an incredible example of how much our LEOs really do care about our communities!

“I know you didn’t want me to shoot,” Casuccio responded. “Do you think I want to shoot an 11-year-old? Do you think I want to shoot a 13-year-old?

“Your life hasn’t even gotten started yet and it could have ended. I could’ve killed you. I want you to think about that tonight when you go to to bed. You could be gone. Everything you want to do in this life could’ve been over.”

Body cam footage shows an officer dishing out a very scary lesson for a young boy who pulled out a BB gun while walking. The call resulted in police being called to the scene in which officer Peter Casuccio pulled out his own weapon. The footage captured the discussion between Officer Casuccio and the 11 and 13 year old. The Casuccio was patrolling Saturday when he got the call about two boys flashing a gun. Audio from the body-cam shows the 11-year-old started pulling out the gun, scared as Officer Casuccio responded to the scene, in an attempt to drop it. The officer says it was when the gun hit the sidewalk that he realized it wasn’t real. The officer tells the mom what happened to which she immediately exclaims,”He could’ve shot you!”

The officer makes a great point. Its important for everyone to educate their kids about firearm safety even if it is just an airsoft or BB Gun. When threatened with a firearm police officers dont have the time to closely inspect the firearm to discern if its real or fake. They have to make a split second decision to protect not only their safety but those around them as well. As mentioned in the video this could have ended in tragedy.
