6 shot, 2 fatally, in front of Baltimore store, police say

Six people were shot, including two fatally, in front of a northwest Baltimore store on Wednesday, police said.

(FOX)- Baltimore Police Spokesman T.J. Smith told reporters at a news conference near the Stop 1 Convenience Store in the Windsor Hills neighborhood that a lone gunman fired on people standing in front of the store at about 6 p.m., Fox 45 Baltimore reported.

Smith said that one man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second was pronounced dead at a hospital. A third man was critically wounded, and a fourth man and two women had non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Smith said that detectives believe the shooting was retaliation for a homicide in the area several days ago. “We do believe that this incident is connected possibly to an earlier incident,” Smith told reporters.

The shooter fled on foot from the scene.

Officers have a limited description of the suspect and are asking witnesses to come forward, according to Smith. “You need to get him before these streets get him and we have to knock on your door,” he told Fox 45.
