I am sure many of you have thought or even asked the question, “Why in the hell would anyone intentionally blow themselves up?”.
The answer is simple. Heaven, or Jannah (paradise) as it is called in the Muslim faith.
To explain this fully would take a good long while, so I will do my best to simplify it. You may have heard of the “Five Pillars of Islam” before. In the Muslim faith the pillars shape the core beliefs of what a Muslim must do to atone for their sins and reach Jannah. Here is a brief run down on the pillars of Islam:
1- Shahada: This is the Islamic proclamation that “There is no true God except Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet”
2- Salat (Prayer): This involves confession of sins and is performed 5 times a day. A Muslim gets “brownie points” for this. Even more points are earned if the prayer is done in a mosque.
3- Saum (fasting): usually done during the month of Ramadan, it is an act of worship where the follower denies his body and seeks Allah. This involves no eating, sex, or drinking from sun up to sun down.
4- Zakat ( giving to the poor/charity): Giving to the poor is supposed to score you big points with Allah when it comes time for judgement.
5- Hajj (Pilgrimage): The Pilgrimage to Mecca is a must for all Muslims if they are able.
Now, why is all this important?
Because, these are the things that a Muslim must do to reduce the amount of time they have to spend in hell before being allowed into Jannah. You see, in Islam; everyone goes to hell to pay for their sins. It’s like jail time. You serve your sentence and then are set free, or in this case allowed into paradise. There is no way around it. Except one.
Dying in a Holy War is a one way ticket to Jannah. Do not pass “GO” do not collect $200, paradise and 72 virgins await you in the afterlife if you die performing Jihad in the name of Allah. No time spent in hell, just pure bliss for waging war on the enemies of Islam.
THAT is why suicide bombers do their thing. They want the “C4 bullet train to paradise”!
You could be the biggest p.o.s. Muslim there ever was, as long as you die fighting a Holy War, you go to heaven with no brief visit to hell.
