Indonesia has announced its refusal to repatriate nearly 700 nationals who traveled to the Middle East to fight for the Islamic State “to provide security assurance” for its citizens, according to the country’s security affairs minister. He added that they will allow in children 10 years of age and under on a “case by case” basis, explaining that “If these foreign terrorist fighters return home they could become a dangerous new virus.”
