Franklin Pushes Back AK Binary AGAIN!!!

Franklin Armory is well known for their binary triggers. Originally starting with the AR15 they have cranked out models for several other firearm platforms! In October of 2018 AK operators rejoiced as Franklin started taking orders for an AK Binary with promises to start shipping the 1st quarter of 2019.

AK owners were even more excited were shot show rolled around in January of 2019 when Franklin Armory brought “Working Models” to the floor and they worked on the floor as advertised. Manually racking the bolt and pulling the trigger made an audible click. racking the bolt and then releasing the trigger also made an audible click.  However as any one familiar with firearms knows just hearing a click doesn’t necessarily mean it will go bang.

EVERY product EVER released by Adams usually premieres in two places. One the show floor and on the firing line at range day. The AK Binaries absence at range day could possibly allude they were not functional and that Franklin may have needed a bit more time.

To be fair the AK is a very complicated “Simple” Platform. While the joke beating them with a hammer usually fixes any gremlins is common amongst enthusiast they can be finicky changes in tolerances and clearances across the platform. Some magazine may work with one model but function like absolute shit in another and the same can be said for triggers.

Needless to say the date for the 1st Quarter came and went. We stopped taking orders on them after that.

Things started looking up however, when we were told in late June that they were “Definitely” Shipping in July. So we began taking orders again.

Then A couple days ago, July 23rd, Franklin released a video explaining why they have now delayed the shipping to September 2nd.

They blame customer desire to have a 9mm version for delaying the 7.62×39. In the video they claim to have the regular version finished and explain that they wanted to take some time to make sure the “parts play nicely with one another”

At the end of the video they ask their customers if they would want a 12 gauge version…

please nobody say yes or we will not see the AK Binary until next year. If we had to wait for the regular version while you worked on a 9mm version on what planet do you think customers would want to wait even longer while you work on another version to Get the original AK BINARY!?!?
