We all know that governments can be shady as hell. Nobody’s hands are clean. and in the immortal words of Rob Halford from “Judas Priest” the Pennsylvania State Police and the State Supreme Court/Legislators having been “Breaking the Law!”
Did you know that in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania you do not have to register any firearm? You read it right. Here look;
Yea, I couldn’t believe it when I heard it, so a buddy and I looked it up. Smack in the face right? Then how can the Pennsylvania State Police keep a registration of firearms?
Well, according to State records and my brothers and sisters over at http://www.pafoa.org/law Pennsylvania Firearms Owners Association;
and I quote from their web page directly:
“No, in fact in Pennsylvania it is actually illegal for any government or police agency to keep a registry of firearms per 18 Pa.C.S. § 6111.4 (Registration of firearms). If you legally possess bring your firearms into the Pennsylvania or come into possession of the firearms legally, no further action is required.
It should be noted however that all transfers of handguns in Pennsylvania are required to go through the Pennsylvania Instant Check System (PICS) and as such the Pennsylvania State Police keep a “Sales Database” of all handguns purchased within the Commonwealth. While almost any casual observer can see that this database clearly violates the spirit of 18 Pa.C.S. § 6111.4 (Registration of firearms), in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court agreed with the Pennsylvania State Police that because the database is not a complete record of all handgun ownership (as people bringing handguns into the state do not have to register them), it does not.”
I know, mind blown right?
I even heard rumor that the FBI actually sued the PA State PD because of this although I am finding no info to substantiate this claim.
I live in Pennsylvania. I am taken back by this. I sit here writing this BLOG for you shooters and I am asking myself, “What other laws exist where I live that the ‘enforcing’ authorities do not obey due to a legal loop hole?
That and if I live in the “Commonwealth of Pennsylvania” then why is it “State Police”?
We’re not a “State” We’re a “Commonwealth” just saying…… but I digress.
So what I want to bring to everyone’s attention is that Governments(even local and state/commonwealth ones) are shady, they make the rules but don’t have to obey them and I think this is some serious bullshit!
