Trump Overrules Bob Mueller, Fires Shot Heard Round The World

There has been a massive shift over the past week in President Trump’s approach to the ongoing special counsel investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election.

President Trump is tired of playing Mr. Nice Guy with Bob Muller and his rhetoric and his legal team have begun to reflect an increased focus on winning the fight. For months now President Trump’s legal team has not allowed him to do much, keeping him constrained.

He has called the Russa probe a “witch hunt” and a hoax and has raged behind the scenes. But, he avoided Mueller on a personal level, usually just insisting there was no collusion with the Russians in a public setting. Now, Trump has thrown off the shackles and is taking his private anger with Mueller to the public.

Reported by subjectpolitics:

“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” If a President can pardon himself for anything, how can Bob Mueller have his witch hunt?

That is the interesting legal question Trump just raised when he told the world, especially Mueller, of the immense power he wields.

The President has power and he just overruled Bob Mueller and fired a shot that will be heard loud and clear by his friends and enemies.

“As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong? In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!”

As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong? In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!

The legal issue of whether or not he can pardon himself could ultimately end up in the Supreme Court, where many experts including Alan Dershowitz think Trump will prevail.

Trump has, unlike many past Presidents, shown a willingness to assert executive power within the law.

Who can forget Obama ruling by fiat? This is not like that for many reasons but mainly, the constitution allows for the pardon powers of the president, while it explicitly prohibited ruling by executive order.

The reason we have the pardon power is sometimes one man must be able to right a wrong that is politically or socially unpopular in that moment of time.

In other words, the framers worried about the deep state (excessive federal powers) and saw one check as the pardon power.

If the Democrats think Trump is bluffing they are dumber than they seem.
