We’re currently fighting in Congress to remove silencers from the regulatory purview of the National Firearms Act. To do this, we’re pushing the Hearing Protection Act & the SHUSH Act.
But as always, supposedly “pro-gun” moderate republicans are dragging their feet on supporting anything that could possibly change the status-quo. This is why we need your help.
Today on the Minuteman Moment, Ben gives an overview of the current situation in Congress, the bills we’re working on- and who exactly to call and make your voice heard.
Call the Ways & Means Committee at (202) 225-3625 and tell them to pass H.R. 404, the Hearing Protection Act!
We need you to take action and pick up your phone to defend our God given Second Amendment rights.
The Hearing Protection Act and the Stop Harassing Owners of Rifles Today (SHORT) Act, are stalled in the House Ways and Means Committee and we need your help to move these bills.
- H.R. 404—The Hearing Protection Act, introduced by Rep. Ben Cline, would remove suppressors from the National Firearms Act of 1934 (“NFA”), stripping away all regulation and eliminating the $200 tax stamp.
- H.R. 2395—The SHORT Act, introduced by Rep. Andrew Clyde, would prevent any future attempt to reintroduce the Biden administration’s unconstitutional pistol brace ban. The NFA was the actual law that the Biden Administration used to justify the pistol brace ban.
You helped deliver a mandate to President Trump last November and now we need the House Ways and Means Committee to help President Trump deliver on his campaign promise to restore the Second Amendment.
Here is what we need you to do TODAY:
Pick up the phone and call the House Ways and Means Committee at (202) 225-3625 and direct your message to the majority.
Tell them to pass H.R. 404 and H.R. 2395 immediately out of committee to deregulate suppressors and ensure that a future anti-gun administration does not target pistol-braced firearms again using the archaic and unconstitutional NFA. This isn’t just about an unconstitutional $200 tax that we want lowered, it’s about repealing all the unconstitutional gun control like registration, wait periods, fingerprints, and more that comes along with that tax.
Show Your Support for the SHORT Act
(H.R. 2369/S. 1162)
The SHORT Act would remove short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and other firearms from the draconian NFA.
Add your name now to support this legislation and help get it over the finish line!
Despite being protected under the Second Amendment, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and other firearms are being taxed. This is a clear violation of Americans’ right to keep and bear arms.
Rep. Andrew Clyde and Sen. Roger Marshall have recently introduced the Stop Harassing Owners of Rifles Today (SHORT) Act to remove SBRs and SBSs from the draconian NFA. This would prevent anti-gun politicians from unconstitutional regulations, taxes, and registration requirements.
It would also prevent a future administration from using the NFA in a way that’s similar to what Joe Biden did. He used the NFA to sweep up to 40 million pistol-braced firearms under the umbrella of the National Firearms Act, decreeing that these lawfully purchased firearms were now illegal SBRs or SBSs.
Preventing this kind of abuse is why the SHORT Act is so important. And why the GOA team is already pounding the pavement on Capitol Hill, working to get these bills passed. We must immediately remove SBRs and SBSs from the NFA!
