The father of a teenage boy in Ohio, is shocked that a judge allowed his son’s teacher to adopt him and give birth to his baby.
The Tallmadge Police Department said that they have arrested 36-year-old Laura Lynn Cross, after being accused of having sex with the 15-year-old boy over a period of three years.
Cross has been charged with sexual battery. She was booked into the Summit County Jail, and her bail has been set at $100,000.
According to the police investigation, when the boy’s parents divorced, the court awarded custody to the mother.
At some point, Cross managed to convince the mother to give her custody of the boy. Cross was a teacher in the Akron School System.
A judge agreed to allow Cross to adopt the boy who was attending the Buchtel High School. The teacher then began a 3-year sexual relationship with the boy.
Cross got pregnant and had a child with the boy. A concerned citizen tipped off the father of the boy about the inappropriate relationship.
The father filed a complaint with the police, and Cross was arrested.
A spokesperson for the Akron School System, said that officials were unaware that Cross was having sex with the boy despite the fact that the teacher uploaded numerous pictures of herself with the boy on her Facebook page.
