A foolish driver used a lit cigarette lighter to check whether his gas tank was full, according to a video that was uploaded to the Internet.
The drover of Taraz, Kazakhstan, caused a gas station to explode after the gasoline nozzle caught fire from the lit cigarette lighter.
The surveillance camera of the gas station managed to record to driver’s actions until the entire facility exploded, causing the video feed to go blank.
The video shows the driver pulling into the gas station and approaching fuel pump. The driver then took the nozzle and climbed onto the roof of his van to fill a tank with gas.
After a few moments, the driver checked to see whether the tank was full. Since it was dark, the driver was unable to see well so he pulled out a cigarette lighter and lit it to get some light.
Within seconds, the gas nozzle began shooting out flames.
The driver quickly threw away the nozzle, causing burning gasoline to hit several other vehicles in the area. The other drivers managed to drive away before the entire facility exploded.
