Four dead in rush-hour shootout on Miramar Parkway after cops chase hijacked UPS truck
A police chase from Miami to Miramar ended with a shootout on a traffic-packed stretch of Miramar Parkway and four dead during rush hour late Thursday afternoon, according to federal authorities.
Jewelry store robbers hijacked a UPS truck and led police on a chase that meandered from Coral Gables to the Dolphin Expressway, to Florida’s Turnpike, to Interstate 75, into a Century Village complex and on to Miramar Parkway near Flamingo Road where it came to an end, police said.
Killed at the scene were the two robbers, the abducted UPS driver and a bystander who was inside an idle car at the scene, FBI special agent George Piro said in a news conference at the scene.
“There are a lot of questions that are unanswered,” Piro said. “Condolences go out to the families.”

Motorists in Miramar were being told to avoid the area. It was likely to remain an active crime scene well into the night and the roads were expected to remain shut down for hours to come. Traffic is backing up and police are directing drivers to turn around.
The incident reached its shocking conclusion in the midst of rush-hour traffic.
Scores of patrol cars and dozens of officers from multiple agencies surrounded the truck with their guns drawn when it got stuck behind slow traffic on the parkway. Muzzle blasts flashed from the truck. Police closed in on the UPS truck from the back and sides, firing off rounds at it. Officers used random vehicles in the traffic as cover amid the crossfire.

Videos have began emerging across social media documenting the events and aftermath of the shootout.
This video is the bystander being shot. Listen how close these bullets are coming. You can hear them whizz by. You can also clearly see the UPS truck is 50 yards away. These police don’t have a fucking clue what they are doing. One of the major rules in gun safety is knowing your back drop. I will never shoot unless I know my backdrop is CLEAR!

One man was hit by the gunfire while sitting in his vehicle. Listening closely you can tell just how close these bullets were.
