I think they should have made the sentence a bit harsher. This guys a real piece of shit.
Martin Shkreli has been in the public’s spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The notorious CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals made headlines in 2015 for raising the price on the drug Daraprim from $13.50 a pill to $750 each. But the tough guy act seems to be nothing more than a facade after he was seen crying after he was sentenced.

Shkreli, who was given the nickname “Pharma Bro,” was sentenced to seven years in prison for defrauding investors in two failed hedge funds. Prosecutors originally asked the judge to sentence Shkreli to 15 years in prison.
In August of 2017, the 34-year-old was convicted after it was discovered that he lied about losses and paid investors back with a separate company’s money he’d founded years prior.

U.S. District Court Judge Kiyo Matsumototo made a point to explain that his lengthy sentence had nothing to do with boisterous and cocky online antics, according to The Chicago Tribune.
“This case is not about Mr. Shkreli’s self-cultivated public persona … nor his controversial statements about politics or culture,” Judge Matsumototo said.
Shkreli acknowledged to the judge and those within the courtroom that he indeed made mistakes and apologized for them. “I want the people who came here today to support me to understand one thing, the only person to blame for me being here today is me,” he said. “I took down Martin Shkreli.”
He then turned his attention to the investors that he was involved with and apologized. “I am terribly sorry I lost your trust,” he said. “You deserve far better.”
Since he has already served six months in jail, Shkreli will have some time served deducted from his overall sentence, The Hill reported.
He has been ordered to pay $736 million in assets. To help fund the exorbitant amount, Shrkeli will supposedly forfeit the one-of-a-kind…
