The Mete MC9 Prime is only 6.73 inches long, 1.16 inches wide, and 23 ounces, but it sports a capacity of 17+1. It’s about the size of a SIG P365 XMacro. Putting the Mete in a position to pick up all those potential gun owners looking for a new EDC, but don’t want the hassle of Sig QC or price. For me, the cherry on top is the 3.6-inch ported barrel that reduces muzzle rise and felt recoil. Typically, sub-compacts are snappy because they are small and light. Porting to address this problem is what I’ve been asking for on my deep concealment pistols for years.

Everything else is what I’ve come to expect from Canik. The trigger is great – one of the best on a micro-compact, especially considering it is striker-fired. It’s flat with a 90-degree break and a super short reset. I’m told it is a 1.3-mm reset. The slide serrations are also superb, and the controls are ambidextrous.
The grip texture was also carefully considered. The front and back straps are aggressively textured, because most of your grip comes from front and back pressure. The sides have a less textured finish that won’t irritate your skin when the pistol is pressed against your body.
MSRP is $649. You get a premium case, two 17-round magazines, three backstrap options, a cleaning kit, mag loader, and a universal G-Code holster that can be converted from IWB to OWB and worn on either the left or right side.
