Cab driver shot to death in the Central West End
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Laclede cab driver was found shot in the head inside his cab in the Central West End.
When police arrived Wednesday morning, the man was unconscious inside the vehicle at Laclede and Kingshighway. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The St. Louis homicide unit has been requested to investigate.
Police are not sure of the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The head of a group that staged an armed protest in the Central West End said the goal was to raise awareness about African American deaths.
“Human life is a very precious thing. What we understand is that black human life is almost for the most part ignored a lot,” said Dr. Alli Muhammad, General in Command for the Revolutionary Black Panther Party.
Dr. Muhammad told News 4 through a Skype interview that his party was in St. Louis for an armed human rights march. He wanted to raise awareness about the deaths of African Americans like Michael Brown in Ferguson, Philando Castile in Minnesota and Ferguson activist Darren Seals.
“We were marching in honor of all their humanity and the reason why we chose that particular location to go through is we understand it would be one of the best places to get our message heard and across,” said Dr. Muhammad.
Videos were posted across social media of the march, showing many people holding guns. It was a sight that caught many in the Central West End off guard.
“I do understand that some people were shook up. As you saw we were very disciplined, we didn’t do anything to anybody, we went through armed and for the most part did what we came out to do,” said Dr. Muhammad.
Dr. Muhammad says he is confident his party’s message got out.
