UPDATE 4:30 11/4 suspect arrested

ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) — Officers responded to an active shooter in the 2300 block of Plaza Drive in Arnold, Missouri Friday.

According to Arnold city sources, a suspect opened fire on Arnold police officers shortly before 3 p.m., striking two officers in the face with buckshot.

The officers were transported to the hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A large police presence from multiple departments responded to the area and officers could be seen with their weapons drawn There is no information available on what led to the shooting.

The incident prompted a lockdown of the Fox C 6 school campus around 3 p.m.

There is no information suggesting the incident had anything to do with the schools, and at this point it appears they were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure. The lockdown was lifted after 30 minutes and students were released from Fox Elementary just before 4 p.m.
