As I write this, my legs are sore, my voice is gone and my beard is majestic. Shot Show 2015 has come and gone and now is time for recovery. Not just physical but emotional. Seeing so many great industry friends and shooting so many guns over the last week in Las Vegas is bitter sweet when you step on the plane and realize you will not see most of them again until Shot Show 2016. But, I digress, the reason for this article is to discuss something incredible that I experienced while at Shot Show.
My beard became fuller, longer, softer and more intimidating in the few short days that I was there. It may have been all the fully automatic weapons that I was invited to shoot while at range day and the Re Factor Tactical “Ballin So Hard Event” at the Strip Gun Club. However, I believe that there is only one plausible cause for such black magic.
The shear amount of combat beards and testostorone in the air had to be responsible. I first noticed this the morning after the Ranger Up party hosted by Dakota Meyer and Mat Best. During the party at the Chateu at the Paris Casino, I noticed that 96% of the men in the room were bearded badasses. You could not walk three feet without implementing the nod you give when running into another beard. Some were long, some were short, some where gray and some still youthful. At one point during a photo op, I was even asked to touch beards with Matt Best (but not in a gay way).
Immediately after this beard encounter, the DJ played Epic Rap Battle Navy Seals vs Marsoc. The party raged until the bar closed and we all went our separate ways to take on the night. Upon waking in the AM, I found my beard had been seemingly stimulated. It was longer, stronger and somehow more manly than it had been before. I poured some Bad Mother F*cker Beard Oil in my hands and shined it up good for another day of guns, glory and hot ass women. I will miss my friends from Vegas and I will look forward to another great Shot Show in 2016 but what I will miss the most is the rapid beard growth that can only occur when that many bad mother f*ckers are in one place.
