29 Dead and 58 Wounded Thailand Mass Shooting

At least 29 people are dead and another 58 are wounded after a Thai soldier opened fire on shoppers at a mall in Nakhon Ratchasima after he killed his commanding officer and stole weapons from the base he was stationed at. #Thailand’s prime minister, Prayuth Chan-ocha, said that the suspect, identified as 32 year old Jakrapanth Thomma, was motivated by a land dispute and fees associated with selling his house, having posted on Facebook about others “Getting wealthy from cheating and taking advantage of others.” The incident began when Thomma opened fire on his commanding officer and his wife following an argument over a property dispute. He then drove to the Surathamphitak army base, killing a guard and stealing weapons, along with a Humvee. He then drove to a temple where he shot at authorities who were pursuing him, killing nine people, including a police officer. He then drove to the Terminal 21 shopping complex where he opened fire on civilians. After a nearly 12 hour long standoff that ensued, the gunman was killed.
