A transgender woman and her wife went to an airplane pilot, who performed a procedure to remove testicles, according to police in Colorado.
Denver police said that they have arrested 57-year-old James Lowell Pennington, after illegally performing the surgical procedure on the transgender woman.
Pennington has been charged with assault. He was booked into jail, and was denied bail.
According to the police investigation, the transgender woman and her wife decided that the victim will undergo a procedure during which her testicles will be removed.
They did not have enough money to pay for a doctor to remove the testicles so they went to Pennington, who agreed to do the procedure in the victim’s apartment.
Pennington does not have a medical license. He works as an airplane pilot. Pennington used an Army surgical kit to perform the procedure.
He told the victim’s wife to call police if anything went wrong.
When the victim’s wife tried to remove the dressing on the wound, blood began gushing out. They immediately went to the Medical Center of Aurora, and the police were called.
Doctors could not reattach the testicles due to the time that had elapsed from the surgical procedure. They also said that the injury will cause a permanent disfigurement.
