Several people are wounded after two masked men opened fire outside of a Mosque in Avignon, France.

According to local media outlet La Provence, a large crowd was gathered in front of the Arrahma Mosque when two men exited a car and started shooting.

The suspects, one with a rifle and one with a handgun, injured at least eight people before fleeing—a manhunt is underway.

The incident is not believed to be terror-related, police told the media.

At least four people were injured at the time, two of them slightly. About fifty meters away, a family of four who was in her apartment on the second floor of a building also received shrapnel. A 7-year-old girl was slightly injured.

The terrorist runway rejected by the police

Tonight, the terrorist track is completely dismissed by the police. The permanent magistrate at the Avignon parquet, Laure Chabaud, evokes the hypothesis of a settling of accounts or a quarrel between young people.

Fugitive authors are actively sought.
